- We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated materials
4. User Content
You retain ownership of the content you upload or create on StudyMaster. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and use that content solely to provide and improve our services. 11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable laws. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, followed by binding arbitration if necessary.
12. Third-Party Connectors & Integrations
StudyMaster may allow you to connect third-party services to enhance your experience, including but not limited to:
- Google Calendar — By connecting Google Calendar, you authorize StudyMaster to read your upcoming calendar events and create new events on your behalf. Events imported from Google Calendar are displayed in your schedule as read-only reference events. Study sessions, assignments, and other items you create in StudyMaster may be pushed to your Google Calendar when you choose to do so. We do not delete or modify existing Google Calendar events.
- Google Classroom — If your school district uses Google Classroom integration, StudyMaster may sync your class roster, assignments, and course topics so they appear within your StudyMaster courses and planner. This data is fetched from Google Classroom via your school's authorized connection and is used solely to display your class information. We do not modify or delete any Google Classroom data. Your school administrator controls whether this integration is enabled.
- Other Connectors — Any additional third-party services connected through the platform are subject to those providers' own terms and privacy policies. You are responsible for reviewing and agreeing to those terms before connecting.
You may revoke connector access at any time through your Google Account permissions or through the Settings page. StudyMaster is not liable for data handled by third-party services once authorized.
13. User-Built AI Features
StudyMaster allows users to build custom AI-powered study tools using the "My Features" builder. By creating and using custom features, you acknowledge that:
- Custom features are powered by AI and may produce inaccurate or incomplete outputs
- You are responsible for any content you input into custom features
- Custom features that connect to third-party services are subject to those services' terms
- StudyMaster may review or remove custom features that violate these terms
14. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms of Service, please reach out through the Settings page or your account support channel.
15. Camera & Microphone — Scholar Video Mode
StudyMaster's Scholar feature includes an optional Video Mode that uses your device camera and microphone to deliver an interactive AI tutoring experience. By enabling Video Mode, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Camera and microphone access are entirely voluntary and only activated when you explicitly start a Scholar Video Mode session.
- During active sessions, the app captures periodic still frames (not continuous video) from your camera and sends them to our AI to check whether you appear focused or distracted.
- These camera frames are processed transiently and are not permanently stored, saved, or shared. No video recordings are made at any time.
- When you press "Start Talking," your microphone is used via the browser's Web Speech API to transcribe your speech to text. The transcribed text is sent to Scholar for a tutoring response. No raw audio is stored or transmitted to our servers.
- Scholar's spoken responses use the browser's built-in Web Speech Synthesis (text-to-speech) API — no external audio processing services are used.
- The AI may display on-screen focus reminders based on its camera analysis.
- You can stop Video Mode and revoke camera or microphone access at any time through your browser or device settings.
- StudyMaster is not liable for camera or microphone permission issues caused by browser or operating system restrictions.
- This feature is intended for users aged 13 and older. Younger users should only use this feature with parental consent and supervision.
By using Scholar Video Mode, you grant StudyMaster a limited, session-only license to access your camera and microphone solely for the purposes of focus detection and voice-based tutoring as described above.
